Gold silk satin long waistcoat w/ cream silk chainstitch embroidered undulating border bands w/ fine silver sequined accents, diagonal decorative pocket flaps, self-covered & embroidered buttons in silk chainstitch in stylized rosette motif, glazed wool lining, CH 36", W 34", L 25"-29", (sequin loss, few tiny pulls, light wear, backing/ lining discolored, provenance label removed from lining) excellent. Provenance: Waistcoat originally owned by Samuel J. Abbott of Andover (1787 - 1852) Son of John L & Lucretia Abbott of Andover MA. Dorothy Quincy Homestead.
