Hand woven wool in horizontal bands, embroidered traditional designs fill each band, red ground color w/ olive, black, white & yellow, note on 1 portier "2 portiers given Overlook in 1890 by Count Bernsdorff and his wife. Difficult Swedish weaving & embroidery made in province of Dalarna, Sweden", 58" x 134", excellent. Overlook, a mansion in Little Falls, NY was built by industrialist David H. Burrell.
