Both w/ finest backstitch tailoring: 1 gents silk satin waistcoat w/ very fine tan to cream ombré silk embroidery, varnished leather facings at W, watch pocket & 2 H pockets, godet shaping over H, thread covered dome buttons, silk twill taffeta back, probably French, c. 1830s, CH 33.5", W 30.5", L 19"-23", ( 0.5" hole right leather W facing, light discoloration at underarms); 1 gents silk satin waistcoat w/ fine white embroidery, thread covered dome buttons, twill silk taffeta backing, buckle marked “L.P”, 1840s, CH 38", W 34.25", L 18"-20.5", (very light underarm stains, 0.75" stain to W, few light spot stains) (both w/ buckle tarnished & wear/staining) both excellent. Both originally deaccessioned from The Colonial Dames of America.

A fee of $15 ($25 for international shipments where customs forms are required) is charged for packing & handling of each lot. All shipments are sent via UPS, FedEx or the United States Postal Service and insured for the hammer price. Due to the volume of shipping anticipated after the sales event, packing and shipping may require up to fourteen (14) business days from receipt of cleared payment. Once the package has been shipped, any shipping related issues or claims are between the shipper and the purchaser. Augusta Auction Co. shall not be responsible for any acts or omissions in the packing and shipping of purchased lots.
