Both w/ finest backstitch tailoring: 1 gents silk satin waistcoat w/ very fine tan to cream ombré silk embroidery, varnished leather facings at W, watch pocket & 2 H pockets, godet shaping over H, thread covered dome buttons, silk twill taffeta back, probably French, c. 1830s, CH 33.5", W 30.5", L 19"-23", ( 0.5" hole right leather W facing, light discoloration at underarms); 1 gents silk satin waistcoat w/ fine white embroidery, thread covered dome buttons, twill silk taffeta backing, buckle marked “L.P”, 1840s, CH 38", W 34.25", L 18"-20.5", (very light underarm stains, 0.75" stain to W, few light spot stains) (both w/ buckle tarnished & wear/staining) both excellent. Both originally deaccessioned from The Colonial Dames of America.
