Pencil on graph paper, dress fitted to figure, signed "Charles James 1969", Illustration 12.75" x 16.75", Frame 18.5" x 23", (graph paper wrinkled) very good. This dress was named for its' ability to be easily removed in a taxi. James' first example of his taxi dress dates to the 1930s; he often reworked a particular dress several times in later years/decades.
