Mans waistcoat woven tisse en form of brocaded multicolored silk w/ floral garland motif twined around metallic lace pattered undulating column on teal patterned silk ground, foil covered domed buttons w/ metallic tinsel & stitched cord overlay, lined in fine glazed tabby wool & linen, 12.75’’ pattern repeat, France or England, CH 35", W 32", L 29.5"-31", (light discoloration & many holes to lining w/ a few being stabilized or repaired, tiny-0.25" holes across back panel,4.5” stabilized tear at CB above tails, light wear to button holes, wear to metallic threads) very good- excellent. Provenance: Dorothy Quincy Homestead. The Costume Collection of the National Society for the Colonial Dames of America.
